#74 Those Boy Scouts were right!

"An oak tree can break or be blown over in a strong wind bcause it's so rigid, while a willow tree, because it can flex and bend, may be more able to survive the storms of life.  The more flexible you are, the more you'll be able to cope effectively with the stress of everyday life."   (from Stress Busters).
And as the Boy Scouts always say...BE PREPARED!  Whatever happens today bend, be accomodating, and keep the helmet close and the cheese in sight.

I remember saying to a group of people once that I don't have any concrete goals, that I just roll with the punches. I have discovered that this approach cuts down on my disappointment. Kate was sad when she was turning 30 a couple of years ago because there was so much she had planned on accomplishing by that age. I told her that was her first problem, setting goals with a time limit. I maybe am too far on the other end of the spectrum. I try to avoid disappointment as a means of self preservation.
